FastStone Image Viewer - This is a fast, stable, user-friendly image browser, converter and editor. It has a nice array of features that include image viewing, management, comparison, red-eye removal, emailing, resizing, cropping and color adjustments. It's full-screen mode provides quick access to EXIF information, thumbnail browser and major functionalities via hidden toolbars that pop up when your mouse touches the four edges of the screen. Other features include a high quality magnifier and a musical slideshow with 150+ transitional effects, as well as lossless JPEG transitions, drop shadow effects, image annotation, scanner support, and much more. It supports all major graphic formats and is free for home users.

JAlbum v6.5.4 - When it comes to free and easy to use photo album generators, they do not get much better than JAlbum. This gallery software makes web albums of your digital images and aims to be the easiest to use and most powerful tool in this category.

No extra software is needed to view the albums - just your Web browser. Unlike "server side" album scripts, JAlbum albums can be served from a plain Web server without scripting support. Thanks to it's built-in Web server, you can even share your albums straight from JAlbum. You can also share your albums on CD-ROM. I think the built-in ability to share your albums via CD-ROM will make this tool one that many folks will find interesting.

WPrinter Lite - This software provides a fast and convenient way to change Windows default printer and set default printer settings. When running, it adds an icon to the system tray. When you move the cursor over that icon, a hint is shown with your Windows default printer name. One click on the icon shows all available printers menu. Another click allows you to change Windows default printer. You can also change printer properties such as paper size, print quality, etc. via simple double-click on WPrinter's icon. WPrinter shows different system tray icons for local, network printers and faxes, allowing you to distinguish between those types of printers visually without checking printer name.

FreeCard Multimedia Greeting Cards (e-Cards) Software - Shopping around for holiday cards that express the feelings you want to convey can be a time consuming task. If you have a large photo collection and need an efficient way to organize it, this is the software you'll want. Look for the no-cost version - there's plenty of features in it. MuralPix - This is a free program that automatically creates wallpaper for Windows out of your pre-selected JPEG images and changes them depending on what time frame you put in. For an example, say you wanted your vacation photos as your wallpaper and you wanted a new picture each day. You would simply give the program your photo directory, set it to change every 24 hours, and you are done. there are lots more features and it's very easy to set up! - Phil

Picnik - Online photo editing made fun! With Picnik you can quickly edit all your online photos from one place. It's the easiest way on the Web to fix photos, remove red-eye, or apply effects to your photos. It's fast, easy, and pretty darn fun.

ShellExtension - This Windows Explorer system extension makes it much easier for users to work with graphics files. You'll be able to view the image as a thumbnail, print it out and convert it to another graphics format using the right button menu! Pretty nifty tool that is absolutely free of spy-ware and adware.

ShellExtension adds an option to Windows Explorer context menu that allows you to view a thumbnail of an image, convert it to any of supported formats and/or print them (for printing, there are no options, you get a centered image with the file path at the top of the page). Whenever you click on image with right mouse button you see a thumbnail and can convert this image. You can convert multiple images as well. In this case you won't see thumbnail, but still will be able to convert all selected images.

CalendarPainter - This is a pretty neat tool to create personal picture calendars from your photos or images. You can specify a picture for every month and customize the color for the calendar frames. CalendarPainter can produce pages with 1, 3 or 12 months per page and the design can be saved for reuse later. In addition, you can add birthdays and holidays before printing and customize several other aspects of the calendar. Note: The quality of the resized pictures on the multi-month pages is slightly distorted, but other than that it creates decent output, considering that it's no-cost. - Phil

Log Paper - A small tool to create and print paper for diagram drawings. Features include support for mm or inch or any other size grid, Linear, semi or double logarithmic grid with user defined number of decades as well as optional page headers. (click on Log Paper on side menu)

Visualizer Photo Resize v.2.4 - Folks, this is a pretty powerful, no-cost JPG photo manager for resizing multiple and single digital images. If you are the owner of a digital camera or you just need to resize multiple images to a smaller or bigger ratio, Visualizer Photo Resize can easily handle all this for you.

SimpleOCR - This is a pretty nifty piece of software. It's an optical document reader that will turn your hand written notes and paper documents into an electronic file. Within seconds your notes and documents are converted into "editable" electronic text for use with any application including Word and WordPerfect. You will need a scanner with a Twain driver (most all scanners come with this driver) to input your documents. A word correction factor and a facility to copy graphics makes this a very useful piece of software.

Fotana - Fotana brings you a highly interactive photo album building experience. All of its functions are fast and easy to use. Original photos are not modified. So many features for editing, organizing and sharing I can't cover them all here.

MERGE is a very simple graphic utility for overlaying two images in any relative position prior to saving to a file and printing. You can merge the two images in different ways as well as adjusting the brightness, contrast and hue of your final image. It's also useful to watermark your favorite pictures.

11view is a fast and easy image viewer and convertor with several special features. It shows, prints and converts images with the highest possible quality. Standard features include: handy interface with many customizable controls, file management tools, the high-quality "Print" function with preview, the "Acquire" function, the "Send by E-mail" function and more.

Batch AutoCorrector - Enhance your digital images automatically! Whether it is due to poor lighting or camera settings, images often lack contrast or have an unwanted color cast or "muddy" look and dull appearance. Calendar Magic - This is a very entertaining and informative software program. Calendars are available in every possible vein, including multiple languages. A listing of all the religious festivals and many other fun things, such as "this is your life information" including day-of-the-week on which you were born, number of days you have lived, your Zodiac sign, some biorhythm data, and the day-of-the-week on which your next birthday falls and much more! Of course, you can also print from this neat little program!

PrintPunk - Make any web page fit to the printer page automatically! PrintPunk is a plug-in for Internet Explorer 6 that automatically fits the webpage to the printed page. Never again be frustrated after printing a 20 page website only to realize a word is missing on the right hand side from every line. PrintPunk requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 to be installed on the computer. PrintPunk runs under Windows 98, ME, 2000, and XP. Folks, this is an unrestricted 30 day trial. Image Renaming - Easily add dates to your images! Need to do some renaming of some photos you just took, but you don't want to go through all the trouble of doing them one by one? Try this utility. - Phil. Image Renaming is a small and simple program to add dates to your images. You can choose between creation date, file date, last modified and last accessed date and either append it to the file name, or add it as text overlay directly into the image(s). If you add it to the image, you can also select the font type, size and color to be used.

iCarbon - This program allows you to combine your printer and scanner into a photo copier using a small and fast program. All TWAIN-compatible scanners on your computer can be acquired with one click, as can all your printers. Scan/Print is just one simple operation.

Stamp - This is an award-winning software utility that renames digital camera photos so they sort in chronological order. It does lots of things: -Downloads photos from your camera-Dates photos using EXIF metadata-Renames photos to sort chronologically-Works with all digital cameras-Works with photos and audio/video files -Downloads files directly from many cameras-Batch processes folder trees automatically-Fast and safe - never modifies file contents-Configurable options, filters, and filename formats and it has a comprehensive user guide.

PDF ReDirect - The easiest way to send practically any document to others is by transforming it into an Adobe PDF file. There are dozens of no cost programs that do this, but my favorite is PDF ReDirect. It's quick and easy to use. Just install the tool and it adds itself to your list of printers. You can print the document to the "PDF reDirect v2" printer. After a couple of steps, the program produces a file that anyone with a PDF reader can view. Here are the help instructions.

PrintConductor - This no-cost program prints any number of documents in batch mode. It lets you print large numbers of files, including Adobe PDF, MS Word DOC, MS Excel XLS, Autodesk AutoCAD DWG, Microsoft PowerPoint PPT, etc. Simply specify the files, adjust your printer and press the Run button! Also...If you need to convert lots of documents to TIFF, GIF or JPEG PrintConductor can print on virtual printers to convert documents into graphics files.

O&K Printer Viewer - This nifty little program will allow you to view what you or somebody else has printed on your printer. Now every document printed on your printer will be saved and you will be able to view it, print it out again or save it as a graphic file (such as bmp, gif, jpg or tiff). * How to use - Select the "Keep printed documents after printing" option in the properties of your printer. Go to Control Panel->Printers->Your printer->Properties->Advanced.

Digital Photo Recovery - Recover lost images from your digital camera memory card! Art Plus Digital Photo Recovery tool can help you recover lost images from corrupted or accidentally formatted digital camera memory cards. This program works with ALL types of memory cards. FxFoto: Many programs promise to help organize and edit your large collection of digital photographs, but Triscape's FxFoto 2.0 has an unexpected twist: The Standard Edition of the software is available as a free download. There is no spyware and it's not a crippled version. I'm very impressed with this program folks. It's only 1.8MB and works on Win98 and up. - Phil

Just Right Click Greeting Card This is a simple and free application for digital camera users to print out greeting cards of their photographs. Key Features are that it is a very small application (863KB), and that it has real-time print preview as you design your greeting card. Karen's Print Logger v2.4.1 - Know what documents you print, when and where you print them. Karen's Print Logger records each completed print job in a special log file. The log file can be viewed, sorted, and imported into your favorite spreadsheet or word processor. Pretty nifty program. - Phil

Karen's Directory Printer This program can print the name of every file on a drive along with the file's size, date and time of last modification, and attributes (Read-Only, Hidden, System and Archive)! You can also list the files sorted by name, size, date created, date last modified, or date of last access.

No watermark is added to the document, no limitations. Nice!

MemoriesOnWeb This is free tool lets you create slideshows on your web pages. You drag & drop your photos into MemoriesOnWeb, and it creates the necessary HTML webpage and applet needed to play your slideshow. Just that simple! To have it on your website, simply upload all the files generated for you to your website.

Purrint - Even when the "Print Screen" key works, it doesn't always print out what you want to see. Purrint lets you preview your screen captures before you print them out. You can save them in .bmp, jpg, or .png format. If you want to automate the process such as, choose a default folder or let the program name your images after the dominant open window, click the kitty image for more options.

Photo Presenter - Photo Presenter makes it easy for anyone to view digital photos on a PC with a minimum of program controls cluttering up the display. Photo Presenter also makes it easy for anyone to add captions to their photos and it has lots of other features.

Photo Presenter may be freely distributed for noncommercial uses by either e-mail or by any physical media such as floppy, CD-ROM, etc. For those with CD-ROM burners, free distribution lets you add Photo Presenter to your CD's of photos you make to share with friends and family. The program's help pages will show you how to have Photo Presenter automatically display the first photo or bit map when the CD is inserted in the drive. From there, all the photos in the folder can be viewed with just the Next and Back buttons. Your friends and family can view your photos simply by inserting your CD into their system. Photo Resizing Made Easy! - If you are using Windows XP you may want to try using Image Resizer in XP's PowerToys download section. It makes it easy to resize an image by just right clicking on it and selecting "resize". That brings up a menu of resize choices including one for PDA's. Image Resizer also does batch resizing. This is all very useful in creating smaller photos before they are e-mailed. Nice!

In many cases reducing filesize with barely noticable reduction in quality. It allows you to work on batches of images, visually showing you the results of compression and allowing you to tweak brightness, color and contrast. Printable Notebook lets you organize and print your personal data in the same manner a paper notebook does. You can print selected pages so that they fit into your paper notebook. The program allows you to create multiple notebooks with custom fields for each.

PrintServer This is a HTML 3.2 frames enabled off-line browser to print and preview html documents and images. Features: selectable zoom, select print pages, single/two page view. (click on 'Utilities' on left menu, scroll down to PrintServer)

PrintFile is a freeware MS Windows utility program that will enable you to print files fast and easily. The program recognizes plain text, PostScript, Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) and binary formats. Using this program can save you a lot of paper and thereby also saving valuable natural resources.

SetPrinter - This small application (40kb) is designed to make it easy to switch the Windows Default Printer. Simply right click on the SetPrinter Icon in the taskbar, and then click on the printer you wish to use as default. The current default printer is shown with a checkmark. Pretty nifty... and easy!

Print DeskTop - automatically sends a copy of what's on your monitor screen to the default printer without having to copy the screen to the Clipboard first. This is an easy little utility to use. It integrates itself into the Start button menu. To send a copy of the screen to the printer, simply click on that Start button link and the process is carried out right then and there.
